We spend a lot of time taking pictures in the Tenderloin (check out our Tenderloin Week from back in November). It’s a pretty crazy place. It’s also a pretty amazing place. Recently, VICE published this piece on social work in the TL. And while we don’t usually look to VICE for hard hitting journalism, the article pretty much writes the neighborhood off as a hellhole slum filled with desperate crackheads. Yes, the Loin does have it’s share problems and it is the way it is for many reasons. But it’s also so much more than VICE would lead you to believe. For a much truer sense of the TL, we’d like to point you to these two responses to the article.
