Art in the Tenderloin
You may have noticed this mural and others like it of beautiful, mysterious women popping up all throughout San Francisco. They’re courtesy of street artist Rone and they were painted to coincide with his first San Francisco show “Darkest Before the Dawn” at White Walls Gallery this past September. And while the show may have come down, the murals are still out there enhancing the beauty our city, albeit at the mercy of taggers. Rone happened to chronicle his interactions with the locals while painting this mural, his largest in SF, at the corner of Larkin & Olive. The neighbors really seemed to enjoy the new art coming to the area. You can read about it here.
In addition to White Walls, there are a plethora of other amazing galleries in the Loin if you’re looking to get your art fix. Some of our other favorites are Shooting Gallery, 941 Geary, Ever Gold Gallery, Gallery Heist, Spoke Art and The Popular Workshop.
